MX Bikes Mods Guide: Swaps, Paints, Tracks & How to Install

Everything you need to know about MX Bikes (MXBikes) mods: what the main types are, how to install them, how to buy safely and how creators can sell their work.

What are MX Bikes mods?

MX Bikes, developed by PiBoSo, is a PC motocross simulator with a very active modding scene. Players and creators publish MX Bikes mods (often written MXBikes mods): bike swaps, paints and skins, rider gear, helmets, tracks, sounds and tools. PitSwap collects the work of independent creators so you can compare prices, popularity and release dates in one place.

Types of MX Bikes mods

Each type of mod has its own page on PitSwap with filters by price, relevance, date and popularity:

How to install an MX Bikes mod

Installation steps vary by creator, so always read the readme that comes with the download. In most cases the process is the same: download the file from the seller or their Discord, extract it if it is an archive, and copy the mod files into the matching subfolder of the mods directory inside your MX Bikes user folder (commonly located under Documents/PiBoSo/MX Bikes). Restart the game and select the new bike, track or gear in the menu.

Keep a backup of your mods folder before installing something new, and remove one mod at a time if something stops working. For paints, check that the base bike or swap is installed first.

How to buy safely

On PitSwap the Buy button sends you to the creator’s own Discord server. Check the creator’s previous work, ask for screenshots or videos, agree on the price and delivery before paying and keep proof of the conversation. Avoid anyone who offers leaked or ripped paid content: it is forbidden on PitSwap and can contain malware.

How to sell your own mods

Create a free PitSwap account, click Publish and fill in the title, category, price, description and Discord link. Add up to six images, including clear in-game screenshots. Mention the compatible bike or game version in the compatibility field. PitSwap takes no commission because payments are handled by you on Discord.
